Can I book or pay for a tandem flight right now?
Not while tandem booking is temporarily paused. Join the Tandem Priority List above. No payment is required today, and priority-list customers will be contacted first when booking reopens.
Do I need flying experience?
No. Tandem flights are designed as an introductory powered-paragliding experience.
Does paying guarantee the exact date I choose?
No. Payment establishes your position in the paid scheduling queue after the passenger requirements are complete. Requested dates are preferences until Metal Sky High confirms the actual flight because weather and safe operating conditions can require changes.
Can I book more than one tandem flight?
Yes. Each tandem checkout is a separate flight booking. Returning customers can submit another booking and pay for additional flights without replacing an existing paid or scheduled flight.
Can I buy a tandem flight as a gift?
Gift certificate checkout is temporarily paused along with tandem booking. Join the priority list if you want to be contacted when tandem booking becomes available again.
Why is a photo ID required?
It helps Metal Sky High document the identity of the person signing the waiver and participating in the flight. The ID is stored privately outside the public website and is not attached to routine email. For a minor without photo ID, the signing parent/legal guardian may provide their own photo ID.
What is the private status page?
It is a private link created for the passenger. It shows waiver and ID status, payment status, queue/scheduling information, confirmed flight details, weather readiness, and reschedule updates. Gift recipients can complete their passenger requirements there.
What happens if weather cancels the flight?
The flight is rescheduled. Paramotors are lightweight aircraft, so wind and conditions have to be appropriate. Your private status page will show weather and reschedule updates.
What is the cancellation and refund policy?
Customer-requested cancellations/refunds after payment are subject to a fixed $10.00 cancellation/administrative fee. Weather-related postponements and reschedules are handled at no charge. Metal Sky High can issue a full refund when appropriate, including when Metal Sky High cannot provide or reasonably reschedule the flight.
Where are you located, and where do flights happen?
Metal Sky High is located at 910 S Garfield Rd, Linwood, MI 48634. Tandem flights and training may also take place at Jack Barstow Airport (KIKW), 6603 Barstow Dr, Midland, MI 48642. Your confirmed schedule will tell you which location to use based on weather, field conditions, airport activity, and operations.
Why do you ask for passenger weight?
Tandem equipment has operating limitations. Approximate passenger weight helps Metal Sky High confirm the equipment and conditions are appropriate before scheduling.
What happens to my signed waiver?
The website creates a signed PDF and audit record. The PDF is stored privately with your Tandem Contact and emailed to you for your records.
